Default DESPERATE BRUSHLESS HELP NEEDED PLEASE LOOK !!

HEY GUYS, I HOPE THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO POST THIS BUT I NEED SOME HELPON A BL ROTOR.

I JUST MADE A LARGE PURCHASE FROM THIS BOARD AND ALL ITEMS I BOUGHT FROM A SELLER WORKED GREAT EXCEPT ONE, A 6.5R BRUSHLESS MOTOR. NOW I HAVE HAD ALMOST EVERY NOVAK BL THEY HAVE PUT OUT. 4300, 5800, 5.5, 4.5 ,3.5 , AND 13.5 . AND I HAVE HAD THEM ALL APART AT ONE POINT. BEFORE I JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS AND REQUEST MY MONEY BACK, LEAVE BAD BAD FEEDBACK, OR OTHERWISE,

I WANT TO KNOW IF THE PICTURES I HAVE POSTED BELOW LOOK LIKE A ROTOR ANY OF YOU HAVE SAW FROM A 6.5 R MOTOR. WHEN I HOOKED IT UP TO TEST IT , IT WOULD JUST TWITCH AND MISS AND WOULD NOT MAKE A SINGLE ROTATION. AFTER TEARING IT DOWN I DISCOVERED THIS FUNNY LOOKING ROTOR. IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE HAS WRAPPED SOME KIND OF ROPE, TWINE, OR SOMETHING AROUND IT AND USED EPOXY TO SECURE IT.

NOW AFTER TEARING MY 3.5 APART JUST TO BE SURE, THE ROTOR ON IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THIS ONE.

ANYONE THAT HAS OR HAS HAD A 6.5R MOTOR AND HAVE HAD IT TORN DOWN, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS STOCK BECAUSE I DON'T THINK IT IS AND I NEED TO TAKE THE NEXT STEPS OF RESOLVING THIS ISSUE.

THANKS, FUJIMO

That is the stock rotor.

There are a couple different rotors used in these motors.

That is Kevlar wrap, I would imagine it is to hold the rotor together under high rmps.

The rotor you are seeing in the 3.5 motor is a "Sintered" Rotor, Which is pure magnet powder compared to the bonded rotor you are showing.

If the motor isnt doing a whole rotation, more then likley it would be called "2 phasing". You may have a internal short in the motor, or the connection is bad.

THANKS KYLE,

I WILL CHECK MY CONNECTIONS BETTER BUT THIS THING HAS BEEN APART BEFORE BECAUSE I DON'T THINK THE KEVLAR WRAP IS THAT TATTERED FROM THE FACTORY.

I NEVER SEEN ONE WRAPPED LIKE THAT.

My 5.5 rotor is a little fuzzy too. works fine though.
maybe check all the pins on the sensor plug to make sure they are all seated properly?

Fujimo.

You should look into getting sintered rotors for those motors.

They perform much better
Higher RPM
Greater torque
Lower temps

pure magnet rotor is the way to go in my opinion

They don't have a higher RPM, they got a lower rpm!
But they have allot more torque!

Greetings Ollie

your rotor/arm seems pretty normal to me for a 6.5 or 5.5 or 4.5. If you have a problem with the motor you bough is either on the motor or on the esc... have you tried to "help" you motor start running, by twisting the arm with your hand with on throttle??? if it works that way, you either have a sensor problem or your esc has a FET fried...

and yeah, you should go for a sintered rotor.

Default FIXED

KYLE WAS RIGHT, IT WAS A BAD CONNECTION. THE WAY THAT KEVLAR IS GLUED TO THE ROTOR THOUGH, KINDA SHODDY JOB ON IT. I GUESS THEY JUST PAINT THE ROTOR WITH EPOXY AND THEN WRAP THE KEVLAR ON IT.

A FELLOW CLUB MEMBER HAD ANOTHER ROTOR FROM A 6.5 WITHOUT THE KEVLAR, SO I AM JUST GOING TO REPLACE IT WITH IT.

I BOUGHT THE MOTOR WITH INTENTIONS OF SELLING IT. I HAD TO BUY IT WITH EVERYTHING ELSE. ONE OF THOSE "LOT" DEALS. BUT I WANTED TO MAKE SURE IT RAN GOOD BEFORE POSTING IT ON HERE AND ON EBAY. I HAVE A PERFECT REPUTATION FOR SELLING QUALITY STUFF AND DON'T WANT TO MESS WITH THAT.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO REPLIED.
