That's what I thought. The conversion doesn't come with the left side plate and standoff because the open x brushed pod (let's call it pod #2) come with them. You and I have the original pod (pod #1) so we would need a couple extra parts to do the conversion right (pod #3).

if you have the first pod (both sides the same), you will need part 3349 - brushless offset kit. You do not need to order 3339. this gets you an extra top plate that will not fit and costs extra money. 3337 is the center standoff that you WILL need, and if you're handy with a dremel, that's it. If you don't want to cut the left bulkhead and would rather buy a new one, the part number is 3338.

MUST:
3349
3337

MAYBE: (if you don't want to cut)
3338

Your asking on the wrong thread as you will get replies like get the Gen X 10 No seriously, I think what the Gen X 10 has going is the battery running along the center making it easier to balance. Just my opinion and never having played with the RC10R5 I cannot compare. It is going to have to be your choice.

Good luck

Steering knukles. I can't think of anything else that I have broken on the car.

What is a common starting setup that people have settled on for the Gen X?

What are some parts to have in your pit box with part numbers?

What foam bumpers fit properly on the Gen X?

Part number for heavy tube lube?

CRC make foam bumpers for the car. There is a small one and a wider one Nexus racing should have them. They are a very hard foam aswell.
