Does anyone actually have any evidence for it? When searching through the efra website, I see nothing about a 5 cell change.

EFRA is Europe only. ROAR does not have to follow suit, and I don't think they will.

However if IFMAR (the worldwide RC body) goes with this then ROAR will have to change at least at the National level.

If IFMAR change their rules it ONLY effects WC events. ROAR would be free to run whatever rules they like at US Nationals.

By the way, has anybody whinging about 5 cells actually run it? I didn't think so...

Yes, but this lays the groundwork for the rest to follow....

its a shame they didn't wait to see what comes out of japan later this month.

you dont have to run the bar on the other side of the pack. you can run some 12 ga under the last cell and flip that cell instead of going straight across with a battery bar and having the pack end on the opposite side.

I hope they just changed to 5 cell in the mod class... they are the only ones bitching so let them run 5, 4, 3 or 2 cells... whatever they want
90% of on road (USA) is stock or 19turn and I dont hear anyone complaining in those classes.

Next it will be: 2 Sub-C cell, a AA, a 9V, and a watch battery - which is about as awkward as 5-cells in a TC. Don't we already have balance problems with the battery side being too light compared to some of the electronics we are running (i.e. BL)?

When I first heard the decision I thought "what the hell is that?!".

The main problem at this moment is battery advancement. Every 2-3 months new cell, BETTER cell is out. Other equipment ESC, motor can't handle the power from the cells. The logical thing is, make them better too!! Problem is that product line for such items is longer (ie Oscar Jansen endbell, it's out at least since May but still very difficult to find at the stores), that leaves us with furstating users.

They say that 5 cells at 1350 is equally fast as 6 cell 1500. We can only wait to see if that statement is true. If it's true I don't mind, if not I do. It took us a while to be as fast as nitro cars (and sometimes faster) at my local track and now they will take us some years back, if the statement is false

It has been decided yesterday. AGM isn't over yet. I guess it will be on the site next few weeks
