Ball stud or Captured Ball End for TC

I was debating wether I should with Each. I mean the TRF415 and the Cyclone Run the Ball Cups/Stud but then the Xray dont' really run them. THey run caputured. Which one is the better one? I would believe that the caputred would deviop less play then the ball cup but I couldn't be wrong... Guide me in the right direction.

The captured ends, such as the X-ray design, have way less slop in them. Using them on the steering elimates a lot of the slop you get using studs/cups. But a stud/cup will pop off in a hard impact and maybe save a steering arm or c-hub. They both work well, just depends what you are doing

I think that the captured ends do tend to not pop off as easy as the ball stud/ball cup assembly. As far as play goes, my T2 has a ton of play in the linkage, it's almost beyond acceptable standards.

Dark, the FT TC4 also has shocking play in the steering linkage.

Run a soft o-ring under the ballcup/on the ballstud. that will take up alot of slop. Just be careful not to use one too big as it will cause bind.

wagon, are you suggesting a very small oring that goes inside the cup, or a larger one that sits at the base of the ball?

Yea, I know about the TC4, that's one of the reasons why I got a T2.

As far as the o-rings go, you place them around the base of the ball stud. It's an old, but effective trick.
