it says here battry braid is better than bars what are battry braids? i have never seen them... only read about them on line

so far i ahve been using platinum bars all along ... and i would like it if someone tells me what are battry braids ....

Battery braid is just a bunch of uncoated wires braided together. You could buy it in small roles and cut it in the lengths of battery bars. It was used alot before battery bars came out, doesn't seem like it is used much anymore though. The major disadvantage to it is that it is flexible and required you to glue or tape your packs together to keep the batterys from pulling apart in an impact.

wailinonya: it is easy to explain if it is the case you mentioned. electric conducted thru media surface. the uncoated wires has way much larger conducting surface and therefore reduce internal resistant and run time increase. however, the test result posted on the web page is not significant when you are talking about 1 or 2 seconds. If the result includes average discharging Volt that might be a total different story.

Imataquito: Sorry I don't have any pics, unfortunately I am not even sure where to tell you to look to find a pick either! I haven't seen any braid in quite a while. It is woven flat though, so it is about the same width as a battery bar, maybe just a little wider. The wire they use to make it is a thicker gauge than what is used in the highly flexible high strand wire you use to wire up your speedos. It is rigid for what it is but still flexs quite easy for the purpose it is used for. It does work good and because of all the crevises in it solder adheres to it really well. Personally I prefer bars though, just for the fact that they keep your packs very rigid and they won't pull apart or fray like the braid can. Braid is cheaper though, at least it was when I bought it, a small roll could do quite a few packs for cheap!

Almost exactly like pickup braid, except the battery braid is usually plated rather than natural copper finish.

From what I gather, it is a thicker version of the braid that connects motor brushes to the endbell.
