Default quick tc3 spur gear question

hey guys...i just noticed..the spur on my tc3 moves...what do u think it is? i think it either be the spur gear adapter or the rear diff case. what do u think?

i can move the spur gear back and forth. what should i do?

maybe you can use 0.1, 0.2 or 0.3 mm shim to minimize the movement...

the pin slot on the spur gear adapter maybe worn and allowing the whole assembly to rock back and forth...

i dont think its the pin setup...from what i can see, it is either the spur gear adapter being worn out..or the diff case being worn out because the spur gear adapter goes into the rear diff case..and if that doesnt hold it securely, it will move. im not exactly sure, but i think that is wat happened...anyone else?

chk the bearings . and also make sure everything is shimmed . might want to change the diff cases, shaft and bearings if its been a while ...

You should have a very, very little play front to back in the spur gear. If it seems excessive meaning you can physically see it moving front to back then add shims. On page seven of the instruction book, step 7 shows the large e-clip placed directly over the gear adaptor. put one of the 3911 shims from step 8 on top of the gear adaptor. Then put the large eclip on. Also, in step 8 where the 3 shims are installed, you should use four shims NOT 3.
this will provide a tighter fit to prevent sloppy gear mesh but still provides
just enough play for proper operation. You will also notice the car will produce less noise which I like, especially if you run a 64pitch!
