Pro 4 on the way!

That is why I said that HPI should...
redesign the Pro 2. There is going to be way too much competition in the shaft drive class for HPI to compete. It would not make much sense. There are still alot of Pro 2 fans out there.
I still say make the Pro 4 with the long belt low and down the center. Make some very efficient belts. Go with the Pro 3 motor layout, easy to work on, captured hinge pins, 3mm graphite plate chassis with 2mm upper deck, 3mm shock towers. Make parts in molded graphite with an optional full molded graphite hopup kit. Make it durable like a Pro 2 while using the same arms, knuckles and c-hubs. Make a sport kit and team level kit. Bring back the old Pro 2 hopups like the light outdrives, center oneway, purple aluminum finned motor plate, purple ti turnbuckles, and etc. Its a no brainer for me.

The way I see it the movement is towards...
the brushless motors. The shaft may not be the way to go. This extra free wheeling may lean more torwards a drive train that has a little drag to slow the car down. With all that extra torque steer the trend may go back to the belted TCs. More give, and smoother response. An adjustable front one way would be nice to have again. I'm a physic, trust me. Perhaps a one belt Losi design?

They would sell like hot cakes...
a sport version of what I said, but use 3mm chassis, 2mm upper deck and 3mm shock towers in fiberglass, plastic threaded shock bodies (with purple shock caps) and light outdrives. Great value and race worthy for $160-170. I would buy one! Could be dark days ahead though.

I'm tired of hearing about thisbrushless crap!!!!!! only 2 note able companies are working on brushless systems, one may be released (orion) but I haven't heard crap about it, and the other keeps getting held up..... why??? because brushless is crap!!!!! it will restricted to the realm of bashing, it will be a very long time before anyone can get the smooth power output and braking that a brushed system offers............. that is my opinion!!!!

The latest word? Almost certainly before the end of the year, and we're looking close at the latest shaft cars to see what works best and what may not for our purposes. It's still planned to be a pro-level, race-worthy kit straight out of the box, so expect the best from it. Or should I say don't expect anything, so when it's better than expected we all look good?
And Tim - glad you got it! Can't you shack up with Timm for the race weekends? Sorry you can't make it, send me info on your track man.
