anyone got any good tips tire/insert combos that they have had good results with. 20mm minpins seem to be the way but what does anyone else think

Soft tires + soft inserts.

Narrow Yellow Minipins with Blue Schumacher narrow inserts are what I have always used. The softest inserts (white I think) let the tyre roll over a bit too much on the rim.
Setup should be more or less the same as a good rubber/tarmac setup, I would run a diff or a spool in the front (one-way too unstable unless you are super-smooth), remove any anti-roll bars, run maximum droop, and avoid the temptation to go super-soft on the springs and damping as the car just tends to get "stuck" in the corners instead of rotating.

yeah the inserts i was most worried about. i had the same thought as people were saying they were using no inserts but id of thought u would loose the contact patch of the tire as u cornered. thanks a lot
