You could in theory convert the FK05, but you would also need to replace the uprights, knuckles, shock towers, axles, bearings, etc, etc, etc....
Could you do it? Yes...would it make economic sense to do it...not very likely.

Unfortunately you can't get something for nothing...you can't have almost all of the components of the kit and cost half as much.
It would also be nice if my full scale car got 1000 mpg and only cost me $1 to purchase...but it's not a realistic expectation.

Well one can only hope anyway.

I just don't see many upgrading if it's near what a new kit will cost. I guess we will have to wait and see. Will the EU version be cheaper since the chassis is only 2.5mm?

I am sure that when they are closer to the release of the conversions, kit pricing and details will be released.

i know not everyone is in the position of buying new kits and this is fair enough, but alot of the times it is better to start a new kit with fresh arms, pins, cvd's etc. the car is wobble, tweek free and it gives you a better base to judge the new design from.

Bought this today at LHS. This was some 6-7 hours. This was my second R/C car build. My first was a FT TC4, and that took me about 12 hours. The 007 car went together _much_ better.
The diffs are pre-assembled, which takes away half the fun.
Mounting the servo, building the shocks, and grinding down the battery edges are the most time consuming steps.
I'll be racing it this weekend at a big regional meet. I'll mount a Mamba Max ESC, and I'll try it with my stock motor and my Mamba Max motor. I'll also have my FT TC4 there. Based on how it goes in practice, I'll decide which car to run in which class.

Just make sure to grease them before you run the car. Just look at the bulletin on the XRAY website.
I'm a noob to carpet racing, comming from the offroad 1/8 buggy crowd. I'll be getting my T2'007 next week. I just need a suggestion for a real good servo for carpet racing, like I said, I'm totaly new to onroad AND indoor racing so be gentle...
