Default AMBrc PT Clone/replacement

Am looking to buy 4 AMBrc PR's but the cost is huge.

Are there any other option available to me that will work with the AMB system, that wont cost me $400-00.

Are there any PT's out there that work with AMB.

Or is there a reverse engineer of the AMBrc PT than I can make at home. Is there a electronic hack?

Help;-)

Why on earth do you need 4 Pt's?

I use only 1 like most people I know in all my cars. Just put in on a slightly larger bottom plate and then use something like Velcro, this way you are able to quickly install it in another car.

If you have 4 Pt's in the computer while testing, it will make only confusion...

Actually I have and use 4 PTs...

2 of which are "permanently" mounted in my Nitro touring car, and electic touring car...
1 - temporarily in my B4 (swaps with my F201)
1 - in my 18T

But I've bought mine back when there was under $60US

Default invest in AMB Personals

Is that price raise in Personals nuts or what. I bought 4 when they were $55 now I can sell my USED AMBs for a profit. Screw stocks, bonds, gold and all the rest. My retirement is going to AMB R/C

AMB got us all....hook, line & sinker......no escaping.......even ROAR has it in their rules to use AMB PT exclusively on all regionals and nationals races, if you ain't got AMB PT....you can't race ....ROTFL.

But, why the need for 4 PT's...? I got 1 in my car and an extra, just for back up just in case .......just in case. That one is even in the original plastic holder never been use. Thats all I have , 1 in use and another 1 for back-up.

I run multiple classes from oval and onroad. Its just a whole lot easier to have one for each car...one for the touring, one for 1/12 on road, one for the stock oval and one for the brushless oval plus the backup total of 5 soon to get more for my son's cars too so if any of you want to get rid of one lmk LOL

Yah, what he said. I race xxx, xxxt, xxx4, xxxs, crc knife, pro 2, micro rs4, mini t, mro1, mro2, overland, f1, nascar. If I count right that is 13 classes that I try race all every week 3 at a time. Or at least timed practise. So regaurding why I have 3, I dont think it is to many. I also bought them when they were $55 not $95. $165 for the conveinyence I could tollerate but I do not know if I would pay $285

There are no companys that I know of making AMBrc compatible transponders. There are two making AMB20 compatible ones. One British and one Dutch. If you want AMB20 compatible ones I'll try to remember their names.

MRT make one, you just put your race number in (1-10) and the computer recognises it as a standard transponder....i think this works with both AMB20 and AMBrc

The MRT transponder only works as AMB20. Nearly no one uses the AMB20 system anymore.
AMBrc timing system work with both AMBrc and AMB20 transponders but only by dumbing down to AMB20 level, that means you're limited to 10 transponders in a heat and none of them is allowed to have the same number. To be more accurate no transponder is allowed to end in the same number.

Hi andsetinn. Do you mean only in Iceland nearly no one uses AMB20? Who knows how many are used in the world? How many in the USA? UK? Europe? We sell our MRT transponders to keep clubs with AMB20 running and by changing batteries in the AMB20 transponders. I know of quite a few clubs that still use the older AMB20 and can't/won't buy AMBrc (system and PT's too expensive). Do you know the company in Holland, if it's Chronit I don't think they are still in business or so I was told.

I know of issues with counting too, two cars cross the line neck-a-neck and the one behind wins on the AMBrc results, how's that??

Does anyone know if AMBrc handout transponders are still available and how much they cost? I don't see them on the AMB website anymore.

Is there any interest in an AMBrc PT replacement/clone for say $50US? A clone would be a copy of your existing PT with the same number for your second car (or 3rd or 4th car!!) is there any interest from anyone?
