Default Tire wear

Guys I have a question about tire wear. On my track new tires are faster on the first run by a good bit. Question is has anyone that runs on a track that wears tires this way tried harder compound tires to offset the wear and just alter the setup to compensate. This will be this way at least until our track is repaved. For example if cs27s are the ticket at your track have you tried cs37s for tire wear and changed the setup?

the harder the compound the tyre is the longer the tyre will last, although the lower the compound tyres will have better the grip, but not last as long...
