Im not speaking for SMC but I know the reason that they chose to go with IB at the begining of 2005 was because IB showed them that they would do what ever it took to be the best Cell manufacture for the RC market and would work with SMC to develop the cells we need and not adapt cells from other markets for RC.
Exclusive doesnt mean a lot to most Chinease manufactures either.....

yeah, right.
ib's are a joke. racers are spending way more money on these, than the gp's. they degrade considerably faster, don’t stay matched very long, and the outright failure (venting) rate, on the matchers and in the pits, is multiple times higher than the gold peaks. oh yeah, and you now need ultra-sensitive peak detection chargers.
sure that's a fair trade for a tenth or two.... except when the whole field sees the same gain. absolutely ridiculous. c'mon. how long do you think an obvious horsepower advantage is going to last before everyone switches? great, two weeks later we're all racing on a new platform that's a tenth faster, and our sticks are blowing up every few runs.
i, for one, am anxious to see a whole new cell. one that will, hopefully, see the return to a much more robust design.

Matching them was even more 'fun' than racing them!
I also agree with Seaball.....I just found out this weekend how much my 8 month old, oft-run 3800 packs suck when compared to new 4200 SHVs.

i would like to ask you guys about what i saw in a magazine.
in the xtreme magazine coving the carpet nats go to page 192 where they talk about the new trinity 4200shv cells. if you read the label printed on the label is EP4200.
Is trinity have East Power produce there 4200s with shrink that says i B on them or i 3 making everyone believe there ib cells when really they are ep4200 just like it says on the shrink of the cell. If this is correct then anyone from trinity explain this ? And can someone who runs trinity cells tell us about how these cells run ?
is trinity selling ep4200 as ib 4200shv cells ?
this is a very intresting picture.

No the EP is for Epic....not East Power. Trinity's IB4200's are made by IB for Trinity in their shrink wrap.
