Actually they were around in the early 90's. The 1400 cells were coming out. The Sanyo 1700SCRC did not come out until around 93'.

This new cell looks like it would be a great cell for the price. I look forward to trying some.

And one more thing. If the matchers would also group cells by peak voltage. Along with volts, run time and I.R. Packs would be improved some.

Anyhow, enough of the "I am bigger than you" stories. It is good to see two competitive brands. Hopefully GOP will get back into the performance race. A three way battle will ensure competitive pricing in the future.

I can name another 3 comapnies that are itching to have a go at the racing cell market. Thank you China

We have matched and offered the SHVs from the first day they were available from Intellect. Not sure why you think that you had them way before us ?

As far as why we decide only to use one cell manufacturer is easily explained by the fact that we decide to only use the best cells and so far Intellect has proven to be the company to provide the best performing cells. When we switched from GP to IB it was because our drivers told us the track performance was better with IBs. We also had issues with the way GP treated us so it made the switch easier to do. Since we specialise in battery matching it also makes more sense to match only one cell as this will mean our matching volume of that cell will be larger thus making for better matched packs. So for us it makes no sense to match other cells since we don't feel they perform better than IB cells.

Intellect has become the industry leader in high performance racing cells and they will continue to work on the cells to try and make them as reliable as possible. How a cell cycles on the TM4 is not always an indication on how good it really is. We have tested many other cells in the past year and some did have good numbers on the machines but after you run the cell for awhile the numbers would drop. So in the end a cell needs to perform well on the track but it also needs to hold up well. This is why we feel Intellect is the way to go as they have more experience and they are ahead of the competition as they were the first to release these newer style cells.

[QUOTE=Anthony Yuen][QUOTE=cannon]Stupid comment .... so IB keep only their good cells for say SMC and give the rubbish tio everyone else. What a load of S@@t.

Hi cannon, are you sure what you are talking about ?

There are some matching companies that are good at their zapping/matching process, with good sales and marketing network, providing good quality products and good customer services. It will have no doubt they can move more cells such that they have fresh good cells.

However, there is little matcher who can only move few cases in a few months who don't know and don't care about good zapping/matching process. There is no questions they cannot get good cells out. What they can do is selling their cells CHEAP.

So far, we, Intellect Battery, play fair deal with all our customers. We don't cherry pick cells for our customers. They have same grade of raw cells that everyone can buy from market. However, their processes make the match pack difference. They match cells with higher standard, so their customers get better packs than the others. I am not really sure why you have such bad perception with Intellect Battery that we are unfair to different customers.

In fact, we do clean and fair business. Even when we are competing the market with GP, we never say bad to GP because GP are also good cells and they are also put effort on their R&D and marketing. We let customers to choose what they need. It is a fair and clean business competition. We hate the DIRTY companies who only see and say someone's bad at the back.

Anyway, if you have any questions or suggestions to our products or our company, please feel free to contact me.
Hi Anthony,

Just wanted to say, not sure what you guys did to the most recent batch of cells (Just received last week) but they are really strong this time!!

Keep up the good work!

ghuber.... at least if you are going to quote me, quote me in context. I was saying that Intellect do not keep the good cells for their biggest clients. I was refuting what EddieO had said when I said the item you quoted. You could at least get the quote in context.

ghuber...

Why did you edit the following out of your last post;

"Had my first 1.2 AIR cell today, quite a few 1.3s with voltages 1.230-1.242 @ 35 amps!! "

They sound like miracle cells @35 amps.

We tested 100 random cells from IB a month or so ago. They don't look that bad but I really don't see where they will fit in the market. The average voltage we saw on our machines was lower than the GP3300's were currently matching.

The range of the cells @ 35 amps was 340-385 with the majority of the cells being in the 370-379 range. The voltage was 1.13 - 1.16 with the majority of the cells being in the 1.15 range. Actual IR ranged from 2.1-2.5.

Were going to release the new IB3600 cell in a few weeks. After track testing this cell has proven to have allot of potential. It's main feature is lower IR and high capacity combined with good average voltage. Best of all it's cheaper than the current cells available.

Were the exclusive distributor for IB cells in North America.

Everybody's cells get better. No doubt that battery matchers are always on the lookout for the next best thing, especially if you can get an exclusive.

No I got it after reading it again....But it seems like a pretty stupid way to say what you wanted to say.

Im not speaking for SMC but I know the reason that they chose to go with IB at the begining of 2005 was because IB showed them that they would do what ever it took to be the best Cell manufacture for the RC market and would work with SMC to develop the cells we need and not adapt cells from other markets for RC.

Exclusive doesnt mean a lot to most Chinease manufactures either.....
