My neighbor just bought the XS3. Receiver is about the same size as a Novak XXtra. I own what many consider the lightest radio out there ..the Multiplex profi. The XS3 comes really close to it. It's very light and the balance is very good with AA cells but I think it would be better with a pack. BTW...Racer Hobbies cells 1300 NMH packs for it. Got mine for about 9 bucks. No batt pack included.There is no DSC function
