Best source for plowdisks.

Ok, here's the deal. Out here in urbanville there are not too many farm or farm supply stores. We have a nice carpet track and are looking for some good old fashoned harrower style plow disks. Besides buying them from Sears at $16 each, there has to be a better source. If anyone here in rctech land would care to help, I am sure that there are a bunch of New England racers that would thank you.

thanks for any help, tim

First I hope you guys are not planning on putting Plow disc on the carpet.

Plow disc are heavy and more than likely damage the carpet. If I were you I would just use flappers or if you really want a disc at the end of the boards use the Road Rails disc. That is about the only thing they are good for..LOL

A "flapper is made of Plastic. They "wrap" around at the end of the Board.

I will try and find a picture of one.

Not sure what our track uses for flappers but they also wrap those water noodles on the inside of it and it really helps it keep its shape and really saves the cars.

At our X-carpet track we used Hot Bodies yellow discs in the corners with velcro on the bottoms of them and flappers made from lexan bought at Home Depot. We painted the lexan, cut it in strips and screwed it to the boards. Worked fantastic.

They are "plough" disc, not plow Many years ago Minnreg (host of 2 nationals) used them on carpet without any issues

The ones I've seen are plastic strips you use as borders in the garden. Try you local garden center or places like Home Depot.

all,

here's a pic of the indoor track I go in wintertime they use the plastic cornerdots(whatever brand) use velcro to get it in place and for the finishing touch use a staple gun to attach different coloured carpet over the dots, the staples are forced in the carpet underneath and in to the wooden surface below the track, they last forever

for the track borders they use the normal sides everybody knows because of the safety. On track they use a plastic tube with isolation foam over it and then again carpet on top and staple to the surface underneath.

Again, never saw one come loose...
