TL01 into a offroader or spare basher/drifter

Well my tl01 is sitting on my side and looking sad

so i thought why not make it an off roader!!

so what will i need to make it into the stadium truck or similar?? and will it be worth it??

it will be using the standard msc and motor, so will it be worth it or should i just replace the servo (as i took it out for my tt01 build) and buy a reciever, transmitter and use it as a spare race car for another family member or freind??

what do you guys think

ON/OFF road i await your thoughts!!!!!

I have taken both roads with my TL01, I started out by getting some cheap MT tyres, read $12 set new and chucked them straight on there, seemed to work fine but was unstable, i then got the long arm conversion kit, about $30 new, if you can find it on ebay or secondhand it will be cheaper.

As a truck with the limited gearing its not really suitable, more buggy size tyres.

for a spare car it works great, even just for you to race a second class, I have run mine in stock on 'fun nights' on polished concrete for a bit of fun and it is a great car when setup is not really required

hope this helps

For off roading, try and find the Tamiya tires that were on the stadium trucks and most recently the Red bull toureg. The are great. And they fit on standard wheels. If you want big wheel action, try a set of HPI 5 spoke wheels and Proline dirt hawg tires. Remember to try the gear ratios for the best all around on that car.
Have fun! Mike
