Default Recommend a good overseas hobby shop?

Hi guys,

A lot of the parts I'm interested in purchasing only seem available from overseas hobby shops. Can anyone recommend a good overseas shop with reasonable shipping and a good selection? Thanks!

What exactly are you looking for? If you already know that the parts are only available overseas, wouldn't that mean you already have looked at overseas shops?

I can at least tell you to stay away from rc-mart (dinball) and RC-Model HK.

With this being an international forum, you'll need to specify where you're located in the world.

Precision RC, extremely fast service provided they have the items in stock,
RC Mart is another good one provided they have the items you are after in stock

basically email the sales rep with a list of what you are after and they will tell you what is in and what is not

Shops like rc-mart and RC-model are very hit or miss. If you get lucky, you will get everything in a reasonable time and you will actually get what you ordered. On the other hand, if they don't have in stock what you ordered (the website also has no way of telling you that it is not in stock) you may have to wait for months before you get anything. They can very slow and bad with communication, and seem pretty disorganized. If you like the cheaper prices, and don't mind taking your chances for only saving a little money (after shipping and "bank fees" you might as well just get it here and get it soon)
The only shops I have ordered from more than once and had excellent service is RC-Mushroom and Precision RC.

I don't know what the deal with HK shops are, Japanese shops (like Champ) are very good and efficient.

I don't know exactly what they have (they have other things than RC as well) but Rainbow Ten does overseas: http://www.rainbowten.co.jp/english/index.html

From my expereince shopping via mail order, if you are buying kawahara's stuff, pro-s-futaba is always 30% off the listed yen price, others are 20%off in average.
rc champs are always 20%off almost on all products.
They will just send whatever they have and of course charge as is. Among so many times i have bought from them, they will just ship by EMS on or before 4:00pm their time. Pretty predictable. I do not have to chase them, none.

Just placed an order with dinball on Wednesday afternoon and on Saturday morning it arrived.

Very impressed. This was for normal airmail delivery too.

I've never had any problems with rcmart but maybe I've been lucky.

Just recently I ordered some control arms for my Pro 4 and at the same time I ordered some from my LHS. The ones from rcmart came before the ones from the hobby store and while I got two sets in the bag from rcmart, it was cheaper than one set from my LHS including shipping. :S

Still, I like to support the LHS and the only reason I bought the control arms from rcmart was because those particular control arms are not available in North America.
