Included below is a pic of a couple of my springs... Sorry I didn't see on the camera that the pic was a little blurry but you can still see the detail at the top of the springs. From left to right is a 10.5lbs, 12.5lbs, and a 17.5lbs. This simple idea takes less than 10mins to setup a dremel, hack up your springs and then pack up. Its personal choice as to how to mark. I run rubber so softer springs are the order of the day. Therefore I started with one nick at the soft end and went up from there. If you run hard all the time you could do it the other way around. My 30lbs spring kinda looks funny with 7 nicks but I can tell what it is and thats what matters.

I don't think the high diffs help much with dirt by diffs in this chassis have been my biggest issue so I do everything I can to keep them good. Just on a note I have been running the D-ring mod on all my diffs and have come to the conclusion that this is only good on clean tracks like carpet. The dirt that has gone through my diffs has destroyed quite a few pulleys and the main alloy sections are very much history too. This is because the cut away section alloys dirt to get in between these two parts and then acts like sandpaper. I am going to order a few more of these parts and try a different idea to reduce diff slip. If its any good I'll let you all know.

When my springs were new, I just recorded the wire diameter and went with that. Different strokes for different folks.

Yeah that has been posted a few times and I prefer that to what comes with the springs but I like to be able to tell my springs at a glance than grab another tool out. That said I would hate to see what a 70lbs looked like for me! Funny enuf but xray effectively use this same system now to mark their new springs and sway bars.

I think he is doing some more this week, but sometimes it can be hard to get access to the machines that make this possible in a decent time frame. I believe this is also being looked at.

He's working hard to get some more out to us here in the States. I spoke w/ him last week and he said he had to walk around w/ an oxygen tank because of lack of sleep (i'm kidding of course), he's working hard at getting us parts in about 10 days or so.

I'll post on the thread and on the site when they come in. There are a bunch of back orders and they will go out first.

Guys I really have to say thanks everyone has been great! In first talking about bringing these products to the States we had an idea they'd be well received but what we've found is that you guys REALLY love the parts!!! Kinda caught us both by surprise how many Type-R's there are still out there begin actively placed in the A-Main.

We really appreciate your patience with us and the process and to say thanks I have some special edition Flying Fox decals being printed along with the regular Flying Fox decals, I'm putting the stamps on them and sending them out by Friday or saturday of this week (even the international buyers). AU should have them in about 2 weeks or so as well.

I'll say it again THANKS!! You guys/gals are a great community and make it possible for me to pass the '009's on the outside .

Quick question:
if you do the double D ring modification on the diff do you take out the bronze diff ring shim or do you let it in ?

Just ordered the extra D ring today so will try it next week probably :-)

We are seeing more and more convert to the Type-R at the local track. You get the performance of the more expensive cars, at a lower cost, with great parts support. Our local hobby shops won't deal with RC America, for example, or directly with too many manufactures and prefer to get 98% of their products through Horizon and GP. Therefore the Type-R looks very good in the smaller DMAs.

I'm working on trading for a second one for my son. He ran mine within .6 of my fastest lap and was consistant. That's not bad for an 11 year old.

The choice is yours, it's copper and it's fairly light but i took mine out for lower rotating mass and the diff screw threads into the diff nut half by that much more.

there were 3 Type-R at Jackson yesterday and all 3 made in to A-main in 13.5 class, was that a 009 I was passing out side when I was battling with you?

No bronze washer, pully will rub against a rear arm mount if you do.

My son is around that age as well he used to have a tc4 and since I've switched him to a parts car i had he's been dying to get out to the track to run it! He is at times faster with his Type-R than with his nitro car on the same track!!
