With the new lower weight limits, I'd like to see a solid chassis with battery stops for starters.

A gear diff.

Steel outdrives for the spool.

Next...
Narrow the chassis a bit, solid without the battery tray, revised rear bulkheads so they clear full size lipo packs, different top deck without the braces, gear diff if it can be made to fit.

We have an engineer at our track who has a CNC mill. I might be able to get him to prototype some parts.

Well, if only it were that simple. Due to how the arms are mounted to the chassis outside the diff pulleys we can't narrow it that much without a significant change in geometry, OR a swap to a "floating arm mount" which holds the arm mount from the top........ I've actually thought about that a lot, but it would guaranteed be pretty complex.

The stock bulkheads are fine, even great, if you are willing to run a shorty pack and put your ESC behind the battery in the tray, which on my Type R is steel so it puts about 120g of weight right where you want it.

Because the car chassis is so wide, you can't "just let it roll" in the setup philosophy with soft springs and sway bars like you can with new cars. This isn't a deal breaker because the sway bars are nice and stiff and my car runs pretty well when held flat by the sway bars, but this can give the car a fair amount of 'twitch' to its handling and narrows the setup window considerably, making the car sensitive to small setup changes.

The car as it is really isn't bad, but if I started out with a new inline chassis car, there would be a few pretty significant changes that I couldn't make work while retaining things like the front and rear arms, arm mounts, rear bulkhead, and such.

Dusted mine off after a couple years in storage, managed second place at the Northeast USVTA "Nats". The guy who won is very accomplished, had a modern chassis, big batteries, latest electronics, etc. Sufficed to say, this car is still competitive in the slower classes.

p.s.-I'm looking to buy some rollers and parts lots. PM me with offers.

I hate when people do this. This happened to me here in this thread too. A guy was looking for a specific part and posted if anyone had one to sell him. Anyway I posted or pm'ed the guy I had it but had to dig it outta the garage / RC parts area. He said great . Next time I pm him I found it he says never mind I found on eBay ..... Why don't u go to eBay first and don't make people search for stuff trying to help you out ? I'm not bitter , but value people's time before you send them on a wild goose chase only to post "never mind". Seams a bit rude that's all

Peter, I understand your point. I went out ebay before and I ha e probably not searching with the correct word or term. It is on a Facebook group that someone pointed one to me that was on ebay. Anyhow, I'm still a taker if someone hasays an extra for sale.

Sorry for the late answer, but my old phone(mytouch4g) crapped out, and I had to go through hell to get a reasonable phone from T-Mobile...
Anyway, I am fine ,and my Tc4 just got a dignity designs top deck 3mm to boost chassis rigidity... Hopefully that will help lower my laptimes... See you soon at 360v2, after the Nats...
