So I have the opportunity to get the mid motor version of this kit for cheap. I was wondering, is this platform (the mid-motor) a good candidate for a drift setup?

I realize that this platform is discontinued and parts are available but are getting scarce.

I also realize that the R version is a better revision of this car.

Would it be worth it to get the mid motor version and set it up for drifting or is the weight balance totally off and its just good for shelf queen status?

Orion 5000's seem to fit best in my experience without modification. I've also run 5300 and 5000 TP's but had to widen the center pulley area (described in this thread). Flying fox center shaft will help accomodate more lipos but I think are hard to find.

as drifting needs lots of steering angle, this car is not optimal, but it can work if you are willing to do some work with a dremel wheel.

Not bad at all.
You're in Henderson, you should come to the IIC this year, you'll learn more about no-jumps racing in six days than you could anywhere else.

Anyone have some plastic diff hubs #3318/3319 you would like to sell? Or maybe I have some JRXS-R parts you might need in trade.

Try stormer, Losi parts house, and Hobbytown, Hobbytown can order parts directly from horizon.

Nope not the eccentrics. I need a set of the black plastic diff hubs the outdrives go into. I do have an extra plastic lipo tray.

Tried em all. Horizon has these parts (3318 /3319) listed as discontinued and I can't even find on E Bay.
