The Specialized R/C one for a Corrally RDX also fits with a little trimming. It has a hard kydex and foam bumper. I've also used a BRP TC3 bumper too. After three season running with these bumpers, I've only broken one front end part.

Our local track has started up a VTA/RCGT class and I am considering joining in. The TA06 Pro car seems to be a lot like a JRXS-R and am curious if I should just pick one up or a TA06 Pro. I know the JRXS is discontinued but parts are still available. I also know Tamiya likes to discontinue its cars rather quickly as well...

What I like about the TA06 is that you can run the shocks in front down or upright like regular TC cars. Any suggestions or comments greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Does anyone know the trick to expand the layshaft to get a bit more clearance for lipo batteries that are not the same size as the Orion platinum two's? Still waiting to find out what is going on with SkyRocketBatteries.com about getting a new Layshaft.

Its a little hard to explain, but it make sense when you take the pulleys apart. One side is very easy to shave down, bring it down to the size of the belt, the other side has a lip on the inside, this one is a little harder to shave down evenly, but if you do it slowly, and check it with the other side, its no big deal. You will then need to add some shims between the pin and the pulley to align the layshaft.

Check out post 12709 on page 848. This is how I have done mine - work carefully when drilling the holes or you will not be satisfied. This will give you pleanty of clearance as far as the layshaft is concerned. Also check out your battery length and height as these can all adversely affect Lipo usage in this car. You will almost assuredly have to modify the tray.

I was able to fit a shim in between my spur adapter and the bearing behind it to give me some clearance for my Lipos. This required me to cut off some material on the spur adapter to get the locking pin to fit. All an all it went well and it does not look like i hacked the car to death.
