Thanks, I'm heading to the track now. We have really good traction with lots of newbees traction rolling till they get help. The track has lots of low speed infield with 180's and switchbacks, so I defenetly want to keep the rear planted. Thanks for the help guys, I have been running a HB for the past 7-8 months and just couldn't get comfortable with that car and ran a faster lap time first day practicing with the type-r so I have high expectations for this car now! Thanks, Greg.

Default anodizing

Ive really wanted to anodize my losi but have come up short finding out how to get it done. Can you point me in the right direction. I'm about to order a new kit and I'd love to get it anodized. Thanks

OK, first race with the type-r, qualified 2nd and finished 3rd (driver choked, the car was there) out of 14 17.5 sedans. The track owner and others all said "You did more in one night with that car than 7 months with the other car." I am very happy with the car, I think I found a new home!

Kermit the Type-R was done at Deluxe Anodizing in Buffalo, NY. They do OEM work for a bunch of the R/C manufacturers, turn around time is about 2 weeks, and a whole Type-R is about $60. They'll ask for a color sample, so send them a close match. Oddly, they don't have a website, but they always pick up the phone. One word of caution, the fine threads on the shock bodies, caps, and collars are ever so slightly dimensionally affected by the RE-anodization process. You should consider NOT anodizing the shock body itself, which was the only way I could get mine back together without leaking and stripping out. Luckily I have Losi's everywhere and was able to mix and match two sets of shocks.

Did you have to remove the Losi anodizing before sending it in?

No, the only prep work is a quick wipe down and blast with motor spray to get diff lube and sticky stuff off the parts.

Thanks guys, that is something to read! Have many tried Lucas Urbain setup? It is quite radical... deck cutting and so on. For foam should I start with Matt Howard setup?

Haynes and Fairtrace's foam setups are excellent base setups.
