This is what I wouldn't mind seeing in the new kit:

1. Sway bars front and rear
2. BK and KB lower shock mounts
3. Rear Bulkhead milled for the rear-front shock mounting
4. Pre-drilled holes for weight placement as needed (lower chassis plate)
5. Spool Pads
6. Vari-length arms front and rear
7. No body
8. No tires or wheels
9. All polished aluminum finish (accept shock bodies)

Option parts:
1. One-way front diff
2. Various add-on threaded weights (bolting to the chassis)
3. 2 degree standard and off-set rear hubs
4. Optional Thicker/Thinner chassis and top decks
5. Optional fan mounts (top deck and chassis)

no red annodizing (kyosho). green would be cool, Todd chose wisely with that color. no tires, wheels and body can and should be left out.

Wouldnt you want it to be a no options needed car??

no car will ever be a "no options needed" car. There's just way too many variables involved regarding how the car will be run. Person A might think a front oneway is a needed option while person B wouldn't, and so on.

Default Building of the new Losi-Type R Sedan.

In the past running for losi I will admit that there was just a few small bumps in the building of the cars. There is and always has been burrs from the molds and some minor tweeking in order to build a car correctly. I also must add this is not only for the Losi products but many other car companies. That is why it is a car kit!

This new Losi - Type R sedan kit was one of the easiest Losi vehicles I have ever built. I was very pleased how this kit went together. It seems as though it will be an easy car to work on and change parts for tunning benifits. Kudos goes out to Losi on this one.... I can not wait to run this car.... The excitement is .... making me ......Yeah - LOSI! AAAAAAAAAaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Mike, did you get a pre production car or is it one of the full prototypes like Todd's and Randy's that I've seen?

Todd,
How many kits do you guys assemble before they ship to the distributors? 500, 1000?

Just wondering.

I believe TC's were raced competitivly for a few years before foam tires were allowed. Also, the foam tire/carpet thing is mostly just the U.S. They're both cool to do though (so lets avoid the foam vs. rubber debates ).
We started racing Tamiya TAO1/Yokomo YR-4 sedans on carpet with foams back in '97 at The Track. I think we were probably one of the first tracks to start running sedans with foam tires back then. I remember when we had to mount foam on the rubber tire rims.

I like the sound of that.

I am actually hoping the same thing.. i hope the rear bulkhead has that option to run the tower/shocks leading or trailing.. Todd mentioned it may cause motor access problems... however from what i immagine the car to look like, from conversations with Todd, the motor will be accessable from the top. Just my interpratation of his words 6 months ago... things could have changed a million times... or I could just be way off.

I guess we will find out soon.

Ditto on the No body-No tires or wheels. Heck if you guys don't have to pack a body in the box even it will cost less since it will be smaller!!!!!
