As for the layshaft... I was lucky enuf to run a prototype for a while before the went to production. There are no negative sides to using it but the positives is quite a list. In short it makes the chassis more "normal" so you can run normal spurs and have zero lipo problems. There is no good reason not to use one
I know there good even on low grip if you do your work, but I was jokin with "da john wee" there because we run our xxx-s g+'s too.

Good to hear that about the layshafts. I got some in the mail.
Thanks,

Its been fun trading setups and Ideas with you guys for the last 2.5 years but I have now moved on and no longer run for Losi.

Good memories and stuff on this thread. Have fun with your Type R's in the future.

Damn shame that is. But if losi isn't going to give you the support you deserve, I don't suppose have much of a choice. First Haynes no you, who's left?? At least we have Dragonfire down here in Oz.

They are on there way as we speak Chris.

I would like to say to everyone outside of the US that has ordered from that the postage has been taking a little longer than it should. Australia Post claims 7-10 days, however its seems to be taking more like 10-14 days.

Otherwise thanks to everyone for the kind words and good luck racing with the shafts. I hope to have another upgrade for the Type R soon.

To be honest, I'm not sure who is left.

I, too, am no longer with Losi. Larry and I work as a team with who we run for and making a move to another company... it was just time to do it. I can't fault the Type R one bit at all. The car is still a phenominal car and I've won my first big races with it. I still think the car, when released, was ahead of its time.

As for remaining Losi TC drivers... I can only think of 2 at the moment. Dave Johnson and Matt Howard. I could be wrong though. They could have moved on as well.

Like Haynes mentioned when he left Losi, we'll still be around. It's a small community of us racers.

Wow...sorry to hear that, but at the same time happy you're trying something new as well. Good luck with the new car and company!!!

BTW, will Losi continue to support the Type R, and work on R&D to refine or develop a new car in future?

When you say continue to support, do you mean they have been? I havent heard of anything since the oneway.

It really doesn't need much though. Since it was released the motors have got a bit heavier and the batteries quite a bit lighter. These days I think its a bit rear biased. To get 50/50 F/R you need a lot of lead up near the front axle. If the front to rear weight distribution could be compressed more to the center, it should technically turn in faster(rotate) and not be so stubborn to straighten up again.

I should be testing this theory in the next few weeks.
