I chatted with Todd for about 20 mins at IIC about this car. Yes it will have a carpet setup for it right out of the box but will require little to make it ready for asphalt. I had the same concerns as far as the carpet setup thing but after talking to him I have no concern anymore for it will be an easy conversion. Read that if you already have the first car you have the stuff necessary to make it asphalt ready. There is no change of chassis like you have with Corally or others. I watched this car in both foam and rubber classes at IIC and it performs well. So drop the whole carpet setup out of the box worry and just save your money for this car for when it comes out. I for one am extremely excited to get one and I deffinitely don't have a carpet track where I live. The lipo fanatics should be happy with this car as well, since they thought of you guys and are included special tray just for those packs. I am in no way sponsered by Losi or even getting paid to say this, I just watched the car perform and talked with Hodge.

But with companies like Corally and X-ray producing foam and rubber cars, promoting this as a foam car could and is making people feel this is a one dimensional car...and it's not.
your asphalt racing over there does this include spraying the track with suger/water to bring grip up

(UK we don`t spray

carpet what additive do you use most of with rubbers

(UK we use lrp top traction ,jack the gripper

there are some that are one dimensional & you don`t find out till you`ve brought it !! then think bloddy hell it`s a mare

just remember the first JRXS didn`t take over here , but it doesn`t mean it didn`t perform , i know off quite a few owners getting the orginal JRXS to move along ,But it never clicked for some reason

Jack was the only thing we used at IIC and it works fine on carpet. True your hardcore guys swear by Paragon Ground Effects but Jack does work with rubber on carpet. Yes we do spray over here on our asphalt tracks at least in my area we do. Since you guys don't spray, do you just clean the track really well or have dedicated asphalt tracks that are for no other use then just racing. We have some permanate tracks here but most are just parking lot setups that are tore down right after the race is run. I still think you are worrying too much about that foam setup out of the box. It really is only minor changes to be made to make it rubber ready.

i only worry when my son catch`s more fish then me

we have loads of dedicated tracks (yes we are spoilt in Uk & still the racers moan )

no spraying , a quick sweep & then that`s it

just asking that`s all

Default Made in the USA?

I know the JRXs R was designed in the US but will it be manufactured there as well?

Todd

It looks like the UK (BRCA) and EFRA will be going over to 4 cell next.

There for the weight limit will be reduced (1325 - 1375 grms)

Can you let me know what the running weight of the JRXS type-R.
As the JRXS is a heavy car.
Also will the balance of the car still be ok running 4 cells.

What will this do to lipos? 4 nimh cells equals 4.8 volts, while 1 lipo equals 3.7 or 2 lipos equals 7.2. Won't this kill the lipo sells over there?

It may be a great tuning tool moving the batteries forward or back.

they don`t care much about Li-Po`s
so yes it will take them out of the equasion

BUT
i reckon if orion done a 3.7v it will be good enough to be with the 4.8 Nimh

Looks like the JRX-S Type R or Losi products for that manner, has finally been recognized by Speed Tech Hobbies:

That's too bad, if they really wanted to keep lipos in the picture, they could of gone to 3 cell nimb. If they were worried about speed, I'm sure the motor gurus would have found a wind to bring up the speed to today's standard.
