Are you the only one rolling the Type R in Denver now? I know Adam gave up on it and you said Darkside did as well. There are three of us here in SLC that run them and are very happy with the car. It rocks on carpet in both foam and rubber.

I ment how haynes droped the darkside car (mx2) a WHILE ago...

There are a few of us. Robert Gonzales i beleive is running the R, as is Steve Folle, and me. I think that's it, but i havn't been to the track in a while to be honest, so i can't be too sure.

Sometimes its time for a change, i had a lot of good luck with the mx2 back then as well as the type r recently...heck i was able to make 5 a mains at the birds this year with my type r's and had 3 podium finishes...i just wanted to run something different. It's nice to know so many people here were able to benefit from my time with the Losi, i'l still answer my pm box so no worries. And for furture stuffs i'm sure the rest of the team will be able to point you in the right direction, especially if you would like to know where the nearest steak house is

Haha, its all good. Congrats for sure on the schumi ride.

The losi team (and losi in general) has been excellent to their supporters over the years, heck, i still have some old e-mails about setup BS from Mr. Todd Hodge himself from the original JRXS. This is one of the best threads on all of the 'Tech by far, all because of guys like mr. haynes who are willing to help out fellow racers!

Does anyone know if any 35C lipos fit the Type-R without any modifications?

None of the good ones. I am pretty sure the thunder power only needs the pulleys widened which is really easy. The SMC 5000 requires bulkhead dremeling, but the 4000 fits with only widened pulleys as well, that's what I've been running.

Nope and never...

I've never heard of anybody running upstop, it just seems like a useless feature, but it wouldn't be the first time that i'd be wrong.

I would just have to widen the pulleys for that? Sorry for asking so many questions, I am new to touring car. How about 30C batteries? I am just hoping not to do any mods and just looking for a drop in fit, that is all.

I've been using them at the rear now for a couple of weeks to stop the rear corners of the chassis bottoming out. The upstops have quite a bit of flex so its a bit like having stiffer springs for that last bit of travel. I haven't noticed any strange side effects when using them so no harm in trying.

These are great batteries:

Trakpower has their 4900 to 25c, 35c peak and 50c burst.

http://www.trakpower.com/

Losi also has a "30C pack" that is a 4400:
