  • Quote: About the spurs.

I'm still on 2 diff solution.
Honestly speaking I start to kill the spurs when I hardened the front one...
Always honestly speaking, the spurs start to dead on brake action, whe you heard the first noise... they are gone
Replace the lay shaft with the one from the old car. It is a direct replacement and is stiffer then the machined one.
  • If anyone is looking for a second car or is looking to buy a Type R right here is a brand new one with a new body for only $290 shipped! Edit: Now hes saying name your price. Thats a good deal, someone should buy it.
  • JRXS not type R
I have noticed several original JRXS not type R cars for sale recently very cheap. Two rollers sold on E-Bay for under $50 recently which is kind of hard to understand when XXX-S sell for more than that typically.

Was there something particualrly problematic about the original. Was there something that kept breaking?

The improvement with type R was primarily a relocation of the motor,Correct?

Is the R a dramatic improvement, over the original? minor improvement?
Is there any issue with getting parts for the older model?
  • There are no issues getting parts, its just the the Type r handles significantly better. There were other improvements beside motor placement such as narrow diffs and longer suspension arms that made a huge difference.
  • If you find a nice roller for under 50, BUY IT! In fact, let me know and I'll buy it. This car doesnt have any more problems than any other car. EVERY car has some minor flaws. Type R's are as competitive as anything else out right now, plus, if something does break the parts are dirt cheap compared to some cars. Whatever cars youre looking at, just pick a few parts like A arms, diffs, bulkheads and things like that and compare the prices between them. The Losi's are gonna be the cheapest and most available. Hobby shops stock Losi. They dont stock Schumacher, Team Magic, Corally and others.
  • Check this out. Axiom has their diff rebuild kits with ceramic balls buy one get one free. Looks like a killer deal, 24 ceramic balls and 2 thrusts for only $24.95.

That deal has actually been around for awhile. They are actually pretty good balls.
  • Quote: Always on spurs...

    I'm using the 64dp 128teeth.
Speaking on asphalt, when I'm racing over open, alrge, fast flowing circuit, no problem.
On twisty, "micky mouse" circuits, whit a large use of sudden brake, the spurs las tonley few laps.

    Any idea?

    Using foams, 4,5 and lipo.

    Thanks
    Ciao Giorgio.
Switch from 64 to 48 dp. This is the most simply, fast and probably certain solution.
    Ciao Ciao

Those thrusts are an open cage design, ours are a solid cage. Problem with the open cage design is the balls wobble too much causing binding and cant withstand high axial loads like the solid ones can.

We offer both Carbide and Ceramic stye thrusts in a solid type cage, which are currently buy 1 get 1 free and also I will personally guarantee them being the best you have used...

  • Funny you say that, because the only reason I bought those off of ebay was because you pulled the ceramic thrusts off your site. I was going to buy those from you. I still dont see the ceramics on your site though.
  • Anybody have a rubber tires setup that they like for carpet that they want to share? I will be starting with 13.5/10.5. I just got my Type R and want to see what others are running? Either post it or email me at achagen@hotmail.com

  • Can someone please tell me what size set screws are in the swaybars? I have what I thought were some 4-40's, but they dont fit.
