What LiPo packs has everyone fit into the type r without modding the case? I have shaved the back of a 3600 Orion to fit, but I am going to need more capacity when running mod and not 13.5. I don't really want to use the plastic LiPo tray and most LiPo packs seem to be to thick to fit between the steel tray I bought and the rear bulkheads. I measure about 21.7 mm between the bottom of the bulkheads and the top of the chassis and most packs at or above 4000 will not fit. Any ideas?

To get the trakpower to fit with the steel tray I only had to remove the shrinkwrap from the back of the battery to get it to clear the bulkheads

Has anybody ever gotten a response when sending emails to Losi tech support? I have sent 3 (over 2 weeks ago) and not gotten a single response.

You get a quicker reply if you send something to Todd Hodge. He has always been quick to reply to emails or PM's.

I am not sure if we are talking about the same pack or not, but off of their website they list the pack (tp49002s) as 23 mm tall. Are we talking about the same pack?

I will be buying my Type R in the next few weeks now that my significant other has authorized the purchase. From the gurus above are there any spare parts that you guy/gals would recommend having on hand. For now I am buying the car, micro spektrum reciever and esc but don't know which yet. Along with new batteries, soldering iron and Losi shock matching tool and soldering jig.

I guess I should have been more clear. I don't have the Losi tray. I have the CD tray, which is pretty much just a flat slab. My "tray" is not recessed for the battery to fit in.

Mainly A arms unless your kit is new enough that the arms are upgraded already.

Hello fellow type R owners. I just bought one myself. I was wondering how well an LRP TC spec ESC fits on these cars? Seems like all the pics I see are of the smaller brushed ESC's, and even those are installed on their side. Does anyone have a Sphere on a type R, and if so can they post pics of it? Thanks, and Im sure I'll have many more questions for yall the more I get in to it.
