Here's pics of my just-built Type R. I managed to stuff a Maxamps 3S 5000mah lipo in there with a slight modification to the chassis. The rear bulkhead didn't give enough clearance for the pack, so I added 1/16" spacers under the rear drivetrain, which also meant raising the top deck.

Yeah the 3200 fits fine but not the 3600. Still waiting to see about the SMC packs.

Brian, If you haven't already bought a lipo, buy the CORE.

No rubbing whatsoever with any part. The pack fits very snugly with about 1mm of clearance on the sides.

The max amps 6000 is only about 21mm tall, so it should fit easily w/o any rubbing. The CORE5000 and Orion 4800 are about 23mm tall, and they fit fine, so the MaxAmps should fit Ok. Maybe he's using the wrong tray?

i was using the plastic lipo tray that came with the kit. does that raise it up any to cause the rubbing?

Makw sure you use the flat lipo tray...and if you are, maybe you need to move the maxmaps pack 1mm or 2mm more forward. Let us know how it goes
