Tight fit? I never had any issue getting 42's in my Type R. Do you double shrink wrap your cells? That could be the issue and if you shoe goo, don't put it between the cells. I just push the cells together and run a bead on one side of the pack where the cells touch.

Default Losi Steel Lipo Tray

I have a prototype of a battery tray that I had a friend make for me. It weighs 147 grams. With the tray and the Lipo with rubber tires my car weighs 3lb 5.5oz. That's with a regular weight Mazda body and .5 oz of lead on the receiver side. It is basically a steel plate with the holes countersunk. I servo taped the battery to the plate and then there are slots for strapping tape as well. I don't think it was necessary but I taped the battery anyways. With the servo tape and the strapping tape that battery is not moving whatsoever. The final product will have better countersinkin and the work should be cleaner. I tested it last night and it works great. The car handles awesome. If you would like one, please pm me and I can give you more info. Let me know what you think or give me feedback. I posted some pictures as you can see.

I have both the EP4200 and IB4200, and the EPs are a much better fit. Both batteries are double shrink wrapped. They are assembled side by side with no gaps on a jig, with thick CA down the valley between the cells. The EPs drop straight in on the tray, the IBs have to be 'massaged' in.
