I usually don't change setup either. I only set ride hight and droop between each round. But I have found that as the tires get really small, I loose steering.

Just curious as to what people do to combat this.

Softer springs in the front and maybe rear.

if your tires are getting really small chances are that the foam is down to plastic rim....feel with your finger to mkae sure there is foam feeling on tire and not hard plastic feeling.

alright i need some help my car has a ton of off power steering but seems to be lacking high speed steering. It looks like i am losing most of my time in fast corners by not carrying enough corner speed. any ideas on how to fix this. been running the jaco prism double pinks front and rear.

You might want to post what you're running for a setup so we can make some proper suggestions.

haha sorry

to make it easy since i know you have an idea, i ran with Tag the past two weekends and he has helped me some. I pretty much have everything the same as him except for i think he is running 4 degrees of caster and i had 6. and i had jacos to his parmas.

Brian.. Be sure all 4 shocks are working correctly..All are rebounding correctly. Also my front is 1mm droop max, rear droop 2mm. I also went to rear high diff and light wt wing for more high speed steering. Another thing is I'm also gluing all 4 sidewalls lightly to free it up thru the corner.

Those above items were a huge improvement for my car this weekend(Wing,Glue,Diff)
I must say that was the best car I ever driven this weekend...

schreff thats not the first time i heard that. ya tag my car was the best ive had too once i quit hitting stuff and breaking arms. this car is the best ive had so far since i been running touring. it seems to respond to smaller changes on the carpet which i like.

it seems that most everyone is running the parma tires so i think ill have to get some before i run again.

one question what change will going to the 8 degree caster do. when is the ideal time to try them. have you guys tried them out yet??

I honestly think going to 8 degrees of caster is a little too much. I tried it a couple times and the car just felt numb. It definitely adds a touch of overall steering opposed to 6s, but the steering feeling is more numb... like the cars reaction is slower. I think Larry tried them too and he favored the 6 degree blocks too.

Definitely give them a try though. They might work for your track.

Thanks for the tips on here guys,

A couple small tweaks to my set-up and adding the -20% exp to my steering made the JRXS-R awesome this weekend. I had a chance to run a set of Parma Tires (magenta f/r) for the main during this weekends race at FastCats and they seemed to help me smooth out the car versus the other tires I was running... laid-down some of the fastest laps this weekend in the class and took home the A-main win in stock TC (beating a lot of the 19T times that were running at the track today).

Can't be any happier with this car after today's performance.
