the drivetrain didn't spin for six seconds like a shaft car. Shaft cars were the ticket then and people were comparing it to a shaft car's free spin. I would take the rip of the one belt rather than an extra 2-3 seconds of free spin. Drivetrain weight has more to do with free spin than anything else. Now it's a different story and I think customer would be open to a one belt tc. The XXX-S had the lightest drivetrain of any tc and that's why it didn't have all the free spin. From a marketing angle a CF version of it only makes sense. I just don't think the masses are going to accept an inline tc. I just don't know why they can't see it. I've never been wrong in my predictions. Best of luck to them and I know we will see a one belt tc come back, but it's just a matter of time.

Man, that car with the "X's" remind me of a .....(thinking).....OH yeah, TC3 clone. That's original. lol

I do find his posts to be quite comical myself, but enough is enough. I learned more about my "volcabulary" today then I did in my last three years of 12 grade!

I could see the JRXS Type R having a huge advantage when and if the TC classes go 4-cell!

Actually RCKnight, the XXXS's drivetrain was not as great as you make it sound. The belt rubbing on the bottom plate in addition to the double S KINK in the belt were its drawbacks and that is where that drivetrain ended.

I can say with good certainty that there wont be another like it.

Oh yah,,, and my JRXS has far more rip than my XXXS ever did! and my XXXS spun great.

From the looks of it.. Keven Hebert wrapped up pretty good at the Fastcats vegas warmup today... he TQed and won mod against some pretty stout competition. I was at CEFX, so i didnt see it happen.. but the results were on rclive...

Keith,

Keven laid it down today @ Fastcats! Paul C. was also very fast with the car.

The new car should be worth the wait!

Way to go Keven! I pitted with this guy at the Nats and he's got some talent. Props to you too Paul. I haven't seen Paul wheel his sedan yet, but I sure did see him eat alot at the Belagio Buffet.

I guess it was an all around good weekend for the new JRXS type R because Todd Hodge TQ'ed and Won Modified in AZ this past weekend. From what I heard Todd said the preproduction car felt even better than the prototype car. That I must say is like music to my ears...

those car is kawada sv10 "look alike" xxx-s, I'm thinking backwards RcKnight,

why dont just slap xxx-s drivtrain set on it, plus suspension set, then slight machining on bulkheads to accept slightly bigger bearing and arm mount,
sv10 drivetrain (spur gear mounting + belt tensioner) looks more complicated than original xxx-s

other kink section on belt between spur and tensioner pulley, and belt draagging along bottom cover,

I've also notice that somehow xxx-s front diff (one-way/spool/diff) might not instantly rotating parallel with rear diff, due to the possiblity of belt momentarily stretching while on power (very long belt section underway from front to rear diff pulley..) > this might be affect handling as well as there are supposed to be 'slight' lag response of its front end drivetrain, (plus more 'lag' with front one-way config.)

I don't check much detail, but I think it feels that way when compared to 2-belt car on outdoor (you may cross check it with your T2 back to back) as 2-belt car then have less stretching section length (the nature of 2-belt vs 1-belt).
then I think jrxs and JRXS-R might have better advantage of using 2-belt drive beside its predecessor also its much better balanced car,

Yeah, I can confirm that statement. I also spoke with Todd today and he was really happy with his production version of the JRXS-R on the rug. Myself, on the other hand, I have to say I was pretty please with the litle bit of carpet track time I was able to get today with a standard JRXS.
