Does anybody know if the Associated springs and/or the Xray springs work with the Losi R ?

Or can somebody post the length and inner diameter of the Losi springs supplied with the car ?

.51 inside diameter and .73 for length. This is in inches. 13 mm inside diameter and 18.70mm for length. I can't answer the other questions about different maker springs for I have never used them.

I know of someone that has been using HPI springs, and cutting the shock shafts down by 3mm as the HPI springs dont have as many coils as the Losi springs

Yes those springs will fit, but you may run into a problem setting ride height especially for rubber tire as they are much longer.

Tamiya short springs will work. They are just slighty longer that the Tamiya short springs.

Both asso and Xray will apparently not work:
Xray is 26mm length and 13.3mm inside diameter
Asso is about 24.2mm length and 13mm inside diameter

Too bad because I have the complete spring set for both Xray and Asso. So switching to Losi just became a bit more costly.

NP Marcos. Do me a favor. Make sure you call Jason and rub it in that you're racing and he's not. He says he's having a party at his house for the boxing match. I told him it's only gonna last 1 round anyway.

Hiya,

I broke my front arms 2 weeks ago and changed to the JRXS short arms. However the Losi springs didn't give enough extension to get to the 5mm ride height as I didn't use the BK brackets. The springs you see are Associated silver springs (rated 14lbs) and spray painted white.

On another note, I have a fear of my LRP Sphere Comp suffering from side shunts and crashes, so the ESC went on top with CCF fans (best in the world and cannibalized off Malcolm's custom upper JRXS plate) to blow air through it. Sphere comp setting at 2-3-0-0. Pure momentum and unreal corner speed. Set up is very close to Todd's Ripon post but I use Sorex 40s with Hara Medium insertsand a 5.5 turn LRP brushless.

Hope this helps.

What about Corally springs... they may work as well. Not that I have any laying around anymore- but they too are short - however expensive compared to the Losi ones.
