yeah, the car is an absolute dream as far as maintenance goes. i also really like the metric axles. anyone who had an older losi sedan knows the pain of reaming out new rims to make them fit, and how much it sucks if you ream them just a little bit too much.

i think it's so nice to work on because it seems very simple, like there's really not that many parts on the car.

There was grumbling about my 5oz. light, 13.5 car being too fast for stock, so I got the "add weight or die" ultimatum from the guys. Nobody cared when I was losing. But oh no, you have a single night of success, and suddenly you're a big, terrible cheater! :-D

Anyway, I managed to get it up to weight with the Platinum LiPo, but it was a little more difficult than the Carbon version. I lined the top of the pack with flat tungsten weights, and trimmed the foam inserts to handle the additional height. There's a spot toward the back of the battery where you can't add any height or it won't clear the rear bulkheads, which is why I couldn't put the weight down low, under the battery.

Those are nice for sure, but they're not heavy enough. I have to add 5.5oz to my Type-R with a Platinum LiPo to make weight. I'm using .5oz weights, which still means I need like, 11.

Who was complaining about you not being at legal weight? I know of at least 4 other cars that are under weight.

Later,

As far as I know there is only the 10.5 springs and that is what I used. I doubt they are coming out with new springs but you never know.
thanks for the info

Later,
Mr. Sydor wasn't pleased. :-D He even peeled me on the first turn in the main and I had to chase him down from last. We'll see how it goes at weight on Sunday. I'm guessing you only have to make weight if you win. Lame!
