I'm sure you've all heard about Car Actions worlds fastest Car challenge right?
Well went out to take advantage of the usage of the track and their radar guns.
Took my Xray off the track from the nationals and dropped it onto the drag strip. With "race gear" and the 3.5 it was 52 mph.
With "speed gear" (84/29 NOT RECOMMENDED EVER) it was 77 mph. Not to shabby from a GP3700 regular old 6 cell pack.

(It's kind of irrational no? Really... do i need a faster car? Nope. I would be much better off running a stock car around for a few days as opposed to putting a fresh pack in the 4.5 and going nuts - scary myself in the process.

Good laptimes is a result of smooth and consistant driving, while avoiding any mishaps. After all, you still have to take the same corner, and if your car isnt set up right, or you hit a dome and crash, any advantage is lost.
still would be cool...
reckon this would really come into its own in oval racing or on a huge track with long straights.
nitro guys had better look out, a 3.5turn + Lipo, and there will be electric guys taking on the nitros in a 20 min main...

GM-Racing 3.5T does have about 600W with 6 cells Intellect 4200SHV and sintered magnets.
With bonded neodym magnet about 50W less.
With 4 cells and bonded magnets about 270W.
With 5 cells and bonded magnets about 350W.
Team Orion reached 101km/h this is about 62miles per hour at a test in netherland with 3.5T and bonded magnets.

For a motor to create 1000W at 7.2v you would need to be drawing an insane amount of amps. I highly doubt Sub-C's could ever put out enough amps to create that much power.
Consider, you need to make 1000W of power from 7.2v you will need 139A, accounting for effeciency though (lets say about 60%, after all peak power isnt going to be peak efficiency). At 60% efficiency you would need 194A. And then if you factor in the voltage drop the cells will expirence at 194A, I've got no clue what that would be, but lets say its 1.0v for the whole pack you would then need 225A. Seems a bit high to me...

Right, the GM 3.5T with sintered magnets can give up to 1000W without current limiter. But racing did show, that you need a current limit at 200A or lower, because no one can handle more current. So the max. current is limited at 200A at this time with the GM-Genius 95.
We tested with currents up to 400A and this can give you up to 1000W.
With 200A you will have more as 5V and 1000W input power.
With about 70% efficiency at this current you will have about 700W output power.
But all drivers testing this motor did say, it's too much power for our current tyres. It's much faster as 1/10 gaz cars.

Has anyone had any track time with one of these bad boys, I have seen the performance of the 4.5t, which I think has 275watts, and has blistering acceleration and top end. Add in another 100w or so and you have a serious speed machine.
How long is a set of tyres going to last? maybe one meeting...
