That looks like it would be for display purposes only, cause you'll just be covering it with a body later. my $.02

Lots of people I know do this mod without any disappointment. Everybody are very satisfied with the result. It gives CF more strength. The layer is hard to scratched. I was taught this mod by Mugen team driver. He done this with every of his car. And yes, we race it, not just for display.

I thought it was clear coated with a urethane and not just polished, the surface looks deep. But you're right in the last pic the motor mount does not appear to sit flush to the chassis.

Well, its not cheap. Cost me about $70 bucks and I waited for 2 weeks. So, most people only do on their brand new kit. I forgot to mention, it can also help prevent gliching cause by CF too .

How does the car go together now?
Might just be the light bending but the layer looks fairly thick. Do the decks still fit squarely? How did they treat the countersinking? Just left it? Or do the screws take material away when they're put in?
Interesting finish.. looks great by the way!

The only place they didn't do the treatment are the bottom of the upper deck and the bottom of the main chassis. They said because theres no point to do those areas.

Looks nice! Did they do both sides of the shock towers?

Is there any performance gain in doing this?
