My first car [ARTA NSX TA05 Kit]

Hi everyone, I am just beginning in the world of RC (for the most part) and I want a kit to build and understand and have some fun, I've been browsing some kits and it seems that belt drive's are preffered as well as cars with camber and caster adjustable set-ups, which has drawn me to this kit: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMFW0&P=0

Does this look like a good kit for me to get? (and I realize I will have to buy battery, charger, radio, etc. seperate) and I am definitely open for suggestions on other kits as well! :)

[ALSO, what is gear ratio, it's importance, how to figure it out and what a good gear ratio is, as well as any other tips for a noob! :P]

TA05 is a good kit. There's lots of upgrades.

I have never built a TA05 but tamiya kits have great instructions and are in my opinion one of the best for new racers.

Alright, thank you for the positive replies so far! Can you guys tell me anymore about gear ratio's, etc?

almost all cars are different as the final drive ratios etc. are different head over to the TA05 thread lots of action on that thread and I am sure they will help.

TA05 is a great car. Lots of people run them in stock and 19T with very good success against much more expensive double deck carbon kits. I believe the final drive is 2.25 but you just adjust your ratio for your motor with spur and pinion gear changes.

As mentioned, check the TA05 thread and you will get a lot of great info. A good car starting bone stock and Tamiya makes lots of quality hop-ups as you want to spend more $$.

also as you start racing / just running your car .. chk here www.gearchart.com Here you will be able to get gear charts to take with you to the races .... have fun !!!!!

The TA05 is probably one of the most underrated kits made. It performs at the highest level of competition and can also take tons of abuse. You WILL NOT be dissapointed!

Awesome everyrone! Thanks! :D I'm getting all giddy inside now
