seaball: sorry for the late reply. Not much to report on the KX-1 front. The racing scene here in the Topeka/Lawrence/KC area has kinda been in flux lately, which has kinda downed the enthusiasm for indoor racing for me. So I haven't been racing in about 3 weeks.
But, heres my notes of my experience at my last race:
-Even though the track was not suited to the one-way, I still put in better times than with my shaft drive full time 4wd car. And thats considering I'm still driving conservative with the KX-1 since I haven't hit Towerhobbies for any extra parts yet.
-I don't like the car with full height foams. Still no tendency to roll over, but the car doesn't handle as well as I want with the full height foams on.
-With a 19turn spec motor in, the car is frickin' balistic! I just don't understand why I don't get that same feel of speed with the same motor in my other car. Both cars weigh about the same, so thats not it.
-I took about 4 hard hits to the front wheels at this race, and not one problem with the front one-way! Sweet!
Future plans for the car:
-I plan to start testing more with rubber tires in preparation for the (hopefully) soon to come outdoor season.
-These new pics of the saddle chassis are really getting my attention. I still love the original chassis though!
-I have been sticking with the kit recommended set-up till I got a feel for the car, but now its time to start experimenting with new set-ups.
Again, sorry for the delayed response, I just haven't been racing much lately. That will change come warm weather though.
Leon: thanks for posting the link to the pics!
