V2 Brush Question.....!!

Im looking into supplying my cars with V2 motors for my on and offroad cars...

What is the difference from the Orion Sprint/Enduro V2 brushes and the V2 Sprint/Enduro Edge brushes? What is everyone using!

For Onroad racing using the sprint brushes. How many runs can you actually get? When do you know you should not go anymore without replacing the brushes.

Looking to run Enduro's for club racing and sprints for the outatown/big races.

I used a Fantom 15x1 for the 1st time this weekend in my BK2. The guy i got it from said he had about 10 runs on the sprint brushes in it, i left them in there, I ran it about 10-12 times more, then decided to cut the com, Only made 1 pass with the comm lathe! and it was good, The sprint brushes did NOT slow down at all!! For the Mains, I put in some new V2 Sprint brushes and the lap times were teh same! I was checking the lap times! so 20 runs on sprint brushes!?

Edge brushes aren't completely round, the edges/sides are flat. The compounds are the same, just the shape is different. As for replacing, if they start to drop off, then you need to change the brushes. Depending on gearing and how hot they get this will differ. Check the brushes to make sure they are not discolored.

OK, so basically, you want the Edges for touring cars, and then the regular V2 brushes for offroad, How is the Element 19t motor? I will be looking into running 19t sedan, will this motor be good? i would like to stock 1 kind of brush and not other ones for another 19t

You want to use the full face brushes for off-road in the modified or 19-turn V2. The compound is up to you. Basically, the Sprint will be faster but wear out faster than the Enduro. If you feel the speed is good enough with the Enduros, run them. They will also not wear the comm as fast.

How long they last and how often you change them depends on many factors. The hotter they get due to load and braking, the faster they may need to be changed. In many cases, you can re-use the same brushes and just cut the commutator. That is if the brushes are not discolored.

When you install new brushes, break them in at .8 volts for 10 minutes.
