Do you want a car or a truck?
|
I WANT A TOURING CAR
|
What do you plan to do with the car?
Racing or bashing? Indoor or outdoor? Carpet, woodend floor, asphalt....? Budget? One important thing: Get yourself a good peak charger. This will prolong battery life, it'll give you more runtime and more speed. |
tamiya ta04r is a gd start b it bashing or racing...
|
I want to race it but on the asphault and just for fun with my friends and not to expencive around 230.

Good beginner electric TC
RushRacing;
I believe that the HPI sprint is a very good beginner level car with racing potential. There are probably alot of people who will disagree but the HPI with it's softer plasitic will most likely take the punishment of "Bashing" around better than say a TC3 or TA04 would. The RACE bred cars tend to be more fragile because of the stiffer plastics used to make them handle better. Anyways just my opinion out there for you to evaluate. Good luck. |
ta04 is the way to go but be aware buying the ones that come with body's like porshes and ferraries may cost more.
|
Listen to uncle Popsracer - the Sprint are fast and durable. Way more durable than a TC3. And since you already got HPI, it should be well supported, where you live.
|
HPI's have always been known for their durability. My first touring car was an HPI and I still remember how hard it was to break anything. . .it's a great car to run through your Novice class races. Once you get used to the style of running and decide that you want something more, THEN you can purchase a TC-4 or TA-04 or something.
Wow, am I agreeing with Pops yet AGAIN???? |
well,...
then if parts support is not a problem,i still insist on naming the ta04r as the kit 2 get.comes with ball diffs gears, full ball bearing and alum threaded shocks...u probably wun need 2 get any hop-ups at all if u jus wan 2 use it 4 bashing...a car worth every value for ur money... remember the chassis is ta04r,not ta04 or ta04s or ta04ss... |
here's some website for u to take a look at the price for tamiya stuffs...
www.hlj.com www.hobbymania.com.hk www.1999.co.jp the latest kit for the ta04r would b the NSX Raybrig 2002... |
me would go with yokomo MR-4TC custom.
cheapest around-even cheaper than Sprint(locally...i mean).fully upgradable to a special. also durable as hell. |
If you can wait a short while, Xray has a sport version of its car coming out very soon at around the price range you are looking at.
|
For $190 Bucks you can't go wrong with the TA04R 2002 Raybrig NSX Kit. You can pick one up at www.hobbymania.com.hk
It is probably the best value for money kit around and in my experience I found the kit to be quite good when it came to taking a hard knock. It is also very race worthy if you decide to get a little serious. All that I would buy in addition to the kit would be the carbon fibre shock towers.. Just my 2 cents worth. Steevo:tire: |
