Hi guys. Greetings from Malta.

In answer to TRINITY REFLEX.

I sell RC stuff and get lots of beginners calling. If they hint at racing then I offer a Yokomo MR4 C Custom or a TC3 Racer. They are the cheapest, competitive real racing cars on the market in my part of the world, as opposed to toys. They can be upgraded to top spec - MR4 Sp or Factory Team TC3 at a later date, without having to start from scratch again.

If I suspect that a kid simply wants something to play then I offer Mardave or any of the many toys available cheap.

Motors. We have a control stock motor here for the beginners class, which is a 21 turn sealed Corally. It is cheap, quick and reliable, so that's what I recommend since if they do decide to race they don't have to shell out for a new motor too.

Speedo. I sell Novak. Will recommend an Explorer, Dually or Cyclone depending on budget.

Radio gear. Most guys end up with KO Vantage, which is not cheap but is among the best. I keep quite a few cheap second hands and suggest them to beginners. If they decide to stay on and buy a KO then their initial outlay didn't break the bank.

Cells. A couple of packs of cheap 3000 stick packs are always useful, so I start customers off with them. If they wish to continue the choice is infinite.

In our neck of the woods I would say over 50% of the people that buy cars carry on, upgrade and race. It's usually the ones that spend right away, thinking money alone wins that don't last.

regards

Joe from sunny Malta.

well,...if u r starting out,u need a decent charger with auto-peak detection,a power supply depending on ur charger,needless 2 say batts,1 servo,radio control set,a motor n a car..
how serious r u on electric car?...
i would say if u r veri serious, get the Factory Kit TC3,a gd digitial servo such as KO 2143 or Futaba 9550,a decent digitial FM controller such as M8 or even M8...
as 4 charger,i use the CDC Ver6.0B with charge/discharge function but u need a power supply for it...anything about 7amp would do...

hi johnbull and ijnek
accatually for now i an driving a nitro V1RR kit.
planning to buy an electric tc to join local race (just
among friends accatually)and maybe bigger competetion.
i am looking for something that can compete with
nitro.so you'll know how fast i want to go
accatually there is a few kits in my mind like
(same like the 1st time I bought my V1RR where i
have to choose between V1RR,NTC3,GT4 ect)
TC3,MR4TC,RS4 and TF3 the pricing is about the same
but i have to know which one os the most competitif
i am more into the yok MR4TC now.
for radio i'll go for KO Propo EX-1 Mar-R match with
Sanwa ERG-VR servo.
what make me confuse is what ESC,charger and motor
to choose from.(due to my little knowledge in elec.rc)
i dont know pros and cons for them.

get the factory kit TC3.u get more value for ur hard-earned money.
wan ur car 2 go fast...then u need a gd esc which can handle low turns motor.i recommend novak gt7(which seems pretty gd from reviews) or the keyence zero V xtreme.
hmmm,...try getting the futaba 3pk.

for charger,u might wat 1 which can charge/discharge.the CDC ver6.0B is a gd choice 4 mi.
mod motor requires more maintenance...reedy or fantom should b a gd bet...

the yokmr4tc has been around for some time now...
