My advice would be to go for a good known starting point on the gearing for your track and let us know how things go.

Hope that helps

No problem

The manual states a 32amp schottkey diode is fitted internally.

The problem could be more apparent if you are using a 7*1 and the latest hi power cells as the speed control is not the newest out there, but you should be fine with the equipment you have listed Any problems let us know.

Large caps are not fast enough to help with the battery spikes caused during switching the fets. They help hold the voltage up, but our challenge with todays batteries and low turn motors is the switching which happens thousands of times per second. One of those cases where more is not always better and can be worse. It also must be close to the action, the fets. Caps hanging on 3" of wire are pretty much useless.
