Is that true? Years ago, there was a big battle between Warpspeed and BMI for the aftermarket TC3 chassis market. The build and machine quality of the Warpspeed items wasn't anywhere close to the BMI workmanship, and I bought a BMI kit. Side by side, it was easy to see that there were a lot of quality differences in the two company's items.
Jason made a TC3 chassis and a nitro chassis to begin with, but I don't think it was after
Warpspeed at all, but in competition.
The only thing that Warpspeed sold that was a great idea was a "blueprinted" diff case setup with helicoiled threads and relieved bearing races. With better quality Associated molding, those parts became unnecessary.
Keep your eyes open on eBay if you REALLY want one. They pop up every once in a while.
