Smoother TC4 Ball Diffs
#2
Sand the diff rings with fine grit emery cloth, and build per AE's instructions. AE diffs always build up glass smooth. If they aren't smooth after that, replace the thrust bearing components. Use the black grease on the thrust bearing and the translucent lube on the diff balls. I have never had a problem getting glass smooth AE diffs.

I have found the thrust bearing has a larger effect on the 'smoothness' of a diff than the balls.
Make sure you start with the diff loose and work up to where is doesn't slip, having it too tight at the beginning adds to the nonsmoothness
I do use the acer pro balls in my diff as it seems to last longer but is isnt any smoother than normal balls...

Just takes practice to get them smooth, consistently.
