Well, since Masami won his first World title in '87 with a Schumacher Cat powered by an Uno motor, he has been with Reedy/Yokomo and that works out at 18 years.

It seems that the Reedy camp has been really testing with their brushless systems and nothing has really been done to their motors as of late and with this being the worlds why go out there and get your teeth kicked in. He does have other sponsors to represent. With Hara leaving Orion they had the room for another big name driver Just my $0.02

Masami will run ORION equipment in these worlds.
john, re-read what I posted mate, not saying he isn't using orion, just saying he is still with Yokomo, not moving away from them, so in a sense he is still loyal to them as well !!

Thought you ment that, but it wasn't very clearly stated because you also said that the Reedy/AE/Yokomo name would never seperate, or at least that's what I understood from what you wrote.

Anyway, no problem.
Just a misunderstanding.

no probs. To be fair I still think Reedy/Yokomo/Associated will always still be a close nit group, even if Masami is now moving to Orion. They have worked so hand in hand for years and it obviuosly works, believe they have more combined titles than anyone !!

This years TC Worlds is gonna be a good one

Masami used Orion Stuff (Batteries - caused quite a stir at the time also) at the 12th scale worlds in 94 and the world kept on turning after that

He's not running Orion Cells though. But i belive there were problems with the GM brushless rotors not being legal i think they had sintered magnets on them. So he knows he is in need of some power.

So does this move up Masami on the fav list to win it all? lol

I can't wait to see the Proto AE, Billy Eastons and Masami's car pics, and i'm sure tamiya has something new.

I hope too, I'm expecting something new about a motor position, near TA05
- motor in the middle of the car...

The Reedy camp seems to be all about brushless lately. That might be one of the reasons for the change for Masami. And its a good replacement for Orion since losing Hara. Reedy will still be in full force. I wouldnt be suprised if you see a Reedy brushless in the show.

This could be coming full circle now!

There is still speculation that the UNO motor that MAsami won the 87 Worlds with was actually a Peak Motor with Uno sticker. Masami was supposed to run Peak at that Worlds, but ended up with a Uno sticker on it. The Uno motors were made by Peak Performance at the time of the race. This is all still speculation as nothing can be proven unless that motor could be analyzed.

Welcome to the Team Masami!!

Congradulations Phillipe and Rick on the 1/12 Worlds.

Good Luck in touring car.
