Looks like a regular AE VCS Micro shock with some sort of surface treatment on it like hard anno or teflon impregnation. It looks more gray than normal.

The LRP BL sedan guys are running a cap on the speedo and on the RX. On startup the BL motors hit the batteries pretty hard and can cause a reciever brown out. I dont know why he would need a cap on the rx with a rx pack though.

Can somebody please talk me through the electronics and the way they are being used on this car. I see a few things on it that I don't recognise.
What is it on top of the servo?
Why is he using 2 capacitors?
What is it on the right hand side of the car beside the servo under the on/off switch.
How has he worked his connections? What is plugged into what? Why is there the plug on top of the sevo?
He is using the LVR-1000 (1Amp) regulator and the Li-Po receiver pack LRX-0120 (120mAh) both from VXR Racing.

If you look closely on the 2 capacitor, looks like the wire is going into the ESC...

So whats the function of the LVR-1000 (1Amp) regulator ?? Is it to regulate the LiPo reciever pack or something??
