yes you did well, you got much better than a TC3 RTR and for $40 less!!! I would tear the suspension apart and check for bent hingepins and cvd bones, because I see he broke a set of a-arms before on the car.... also check and make sure no screws are sripped and all are tight..... Otherwise enjoy your new car!!!!!

Well the P2K is the best stock motor Trinity have ever made (the only good stock motor Trinity have ever made...)

However, it is impossible for us to tell how good the motor is without running the car and experimenting with the gear ratios.

yeah. it's a really good deal you landed. the radio and servo are fairly basic, but you'll get by for a while. the p3k motor is no longer made, and they are awesome stock motors. the esc was at one time top, or nearly top, of the line from novak. like impact player said, check the condition of all of the pins and plastic. then, go have a blast.

Okay, awesome. What's the best motor out for this line of car? And what kind of performance increase could I expect?

Congrats with your new car, good deal.

The P2K are good motors, so I'll suggest you start out with those. You can get something faster, but it's better to learn some driving skills before getting a real fast motor. This will both save you money for spare parts due to crashes AND allow you to get better driving skills. Besides, the faster the motor, the shorter the runtimes are !

The most important you can do right now, is to get a good peak detecting charger. Stay away from wall chargers and timer chargers !

A good charger will give this: Better runtime, more speed and prolonged battery life.

The Duratrax Intellipeak Digital / Apex Sigma Plus, are examples of chargers, that are pretty good. These goes for around 90-100$.
