JR XR2 receiver compatilbility

Got a radio question, eh? (sorry, your name IS Canuck )
You could try a Novak XXL, just be sure it's for AM 75mhz.

Hey "RACERB" here's some info I got from another user:
"I run my XR2 with a Futaba R122JE reciever with no problems at all. The R122JE is stocked at my LHS and is cheaper than anything else... I figure if it works, why not? I run Futaba crystals in both the reciever and transmitter. Honestly, I'm pretty sure the JR 122 and Futaba R122JE actually ARE the same reciever under the plastic. But that's just my opinion."
Look's promising !

It has so many functions and trims I'm not shure about this !
Thank's

if u think XR2 has many features, XR3i has even more features. features that you'll ever need to have a complete control over ur car. plus, XR3i comes with a high toruque steering servo which is.... nice.
ur transimitter should work fine when using other reciever. i do not recommend getting a synthesized reciever becoz they dont make a module for XR2. i recomend the futaba receivers. they're so damn small and less likely to glitch.

Curious too
Ok, can somebody post a matrix of what transmitters, crystals and receivers work with what. ie.
--trans----cryst----rec----works?
M8 Air Fut Yes
I wanna know if an M8 can use JR(or airtronics) crystals with JR receivers.
I know that M8's with Airtronic crystals work with futaba receivers. But thats the only mixing I know for sure works.

Why would there be the need for a XR2 module in a synthesized receiver ? The R122 futaba don't have a special module ?

synthesized means there is no need for crystals, the frequency can be changed just by turning the knob to the desired frequency. the same thing applies to ur transmitter, u need a module to change the frequency without buying sets of crystals. most (if not all) futaba recievers uses crystals. i can only think of novak XXtra synthesized receivers.

some crystals have different shape than others. some will not fit on a certain transmitter. i know jr uses this grey cap on top of their crystals for label which i think will not fit on M8.
