you got the tamiya f201 thats out now and also theres a company called MLP motorsports that makes chassis upgrades and a 2wd version of the car heres the link

If you really want to race, and your track doesn't use TCS rules,

Go buy a Tamiya F201(4wd) or Tamiya F103(2wd). F103s can be found cheap on ebay, but parts are getting harder to find. The F201 is 4wd and I just picked one up for myself, but haven't run it yet. The thing is just so cool with the way the suspension is setup and seems to be the favorite choice among F1 r/c racers.

If you want to hop it up, get yourself a kit F201 and then gradually turn it into either a 3racing (if you can find the chassis) or a MLP F201.

From stock the F201's have a lot of options which you are able to use to make it peform better

NO!! if you do that think about buying a new car, cause the gears are all plastic and it will burn your gears, diffs, outdrives, hubs and im betting much more (this is for tcs legal cars, for modded cars i guess but you would have to change a bunch of stuff)

I have run a 12T in my cars and Jonn has used a Brushless in unlimited class F1 racing and took 1st 27sec's over a 3Racing Chassis Brushless car!

MLP#1

Basically, if you want to run high power setups, or simply run the fastest laps, it comes down to power application/handling. The Tamiya F201 is a good car, but it has lots of flex, certain parts break easily, and you really have to upgrade it to make it capable. The MLP F201 is not about having the nicest looking car (although it is! ), but it is about having everything designed to a certain tolerance. The victory Marty is referring to, I was running an MLP F201 SCF-PRO, with an Aon Electric 5800kv brushless motor, Castle Creations Mamba Max ESC, and Thunder Power 11.v 3-cell li-po batteries. If you put that setup in a stock F201, it would blow up !
Anyways, with all the money you'll spend hopping up your F201, you might as well buy an MLP F201 and save yourself all the trouble.
