Buying used Rubber tires?

Whats your opinion on buying used rubber tires? Im seeing alot of people unloading thier RP30s from the Reedy race. Most of the sales are on one and two run tires, and while the prices are significantly less than full price is this really worth it? Are these tires any good? And if so..what can an average racer get out of them?

Depends on how fast you plan to be.

If you are happy to run several-run old tyres anyway, I don't see any harm in buying secondhand tyres as long as you trust the seller and the price is right.

Tires

In Florida, we run a state series, and have CS 27's as the handout. Over the course of a year they tend to accumulate. They still have a ton of life in them and are great for weekly club races, If people don't sell them , they often get handed over to the younger racers. I wouldn't think twice about it, unless you're running at the top levels, and most tires will have a lot of life left, especially for the prices being asked.

If you are so fast that you need new tires every run or two, then at that point you should be getting them for free (or at least close to it!) ;) :)
